Wendy Wood, PhD, OTR, FAOTA, has consistently raised questions that need to be asked and facilitated dialogue about issues that need to be brought to the attention of occupational therapists, such as the art and science of occupational therapy and the implications of AIDS for the profession. Wood is the founder of the AOTA Network for Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Concerns in Occupational Therapy. Her landmark presentation on this topic at the 1992 AOTA Annual Conference was a wake-up call, and her work in this area facilitated a shift to a more inclusive profession. Wood’s published work addresses issues in the field, foundational research, and promising innovations. Read articles by Wendy Wood.
